MoCo Pride Party 2019 Officially Announced to Celebrate 50th Stonewall Anniversary

Rockville, Maryland (June 29, 2019) The MoCo Pride Center is hosting the inaugural MoCo Pride Party in Rockville Town Square. MoCo Pride Party 2019 is a celebration of queerness, and endeavors to foster fellowship by accommodating every guest regardless of sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, age, race, religion, socioeconomic status, or disability.

It is the goal of the MoCo Pride Center and MoCo Pride Party 2019 to create a safer Montgomery County for the LGBTQIA population. "The 2019 MoCo Pride Party is going to be a fantastic celebration to close out pride month,” said Montgomery County Councilmember Evan Glass (At-Large). “This will be an opportunity to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall Riots and recognize the beautifully diverse community we call home.”

June 29, 2019, the date of the MoCo Pride Party, marks the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall Riots in New York City, which ultimately gave birth to the first LGBTQ PRIDE celebration. The event features a night of live entertainment, outdoor games, eclectic food & drink vendors, and resources from local queer organizations. Headlining the night is television personality, drag superstar, and activist, “Miss Peppermint (she/hers),” fan favorite and runner-up of RuPaul’s Drag Race!
